Biography

Style and beauty have always been central to my life.  As a child growing up in Perrysburg, Ohio I would spend hours working on creative projects with my sister and friends.   Painting, sewing and crafts of all types became avenues to channel my energy and vision.   After pursuing my interest in the arts and earning a degree in Art History at Williams College, I began my career in the design world at Ursus Rare Prints in New York, where I sold botanical and decorative prints to decorators and collectors.  Later, as a Decorating Editor at House Beautiful, I was immersed in the world of home furnishings and design while producing trend stories and full length decorating stories.

Today I live in Westport, Connecticut in a 1929 cottage that I have renovated and furnished to reflect the aesthetic qualities I think are key in creating a comfortable, welcoming and graceful home.    While raising my two daughters and working on my home, I have added to my experience in design by freelancing for a local magazine, Fairfield Country Home, and by working directly in interior design with a Westport decorator.

Living in Westport has given me the opportunity to take my design sense outside the home.  By incorporating my aesthetic understanding of landscape, plants and design I have created a  beautiful, living complement to my home in my formal circular garden just outside my front door.  I am always adding to my repertoire of ideas and resources as I serve on the Westport Historical Society Garden tour committee scouting and selecting gardens for their annual house tour.
