My House
A home is like a canvas. It is an opportunity to express who you are and what you think is important; a place to welcome friends and family and to share with them things you find to be beautiful and inspiring. A home must accommodate all the quotidian things in our lives and also be arranged in such a way so that people who live there are comfortable. But beyond those basics, I feel a home should offer peaceful, beautiful moments that bring us beyond the day-to-day details of our lives. My home is a mixture of objects and furniture that I have collected over many years, and although my look tends to be pared down, my approach is painterly. I appreciate objects mostly for their form and history, whether they be formal or informal. Both found objects with fine ones have a place in my home, creating an environment that is special but also livable. A delicate palate, informed by the spartan Scandinavian aesthetic, provides a warm and simple backdrop to my careful collection of furnishings, art and textiles.
